A Second Chance

Debo confesar que me bajé el disco de Black Kids, «Partie Traumatic» porque tenían una portada muy mona:

… Ya saben de mi debilidad por las orejitas de conejo 😀

Debo confesar que me decepcionaron cuando los escuché… O sea eran «black» kids! pensé que tendrían una tonada más fuerte y oscura…

Debo confesar que luego escuchando en la radio me decía: «quiénes son? qué chéveres!! serán los Hot Hot Heat???», y pues eran los «Black Kidos».

Debo confesar que con «I’m not going to teach your boyfriend how to dance with you» empiezo a bailar en mi asiento gritando en silencio: DANCE DANCE DANCE DANCE!!

Y bueno, las bandas en las que tienen un vocalista principal y un corito detrás me encantan!!! (como: Arcade Fire, Polyphonic Spree, The Go! Team, etc, etc)

Por eso y muchas cosas más les di otra oportunidad a The Black Kids y terminaron gustándome 🙂

Ayer, casi de casualidad entré al sitio de songsmeanings y me puse a revisar algunos temas de Feist (sí ya sé! lately he escrito demasiado sobre ella, pero es chévere, me encanta su musike). Entré a ver el significado de uno de mis temas preferidos «Mushaboom», y yo que pensaba que era un palabra inventada -que tnía que ver con hongos (mushrooms)- me di cuenta que en realidad es un pueblo canadiense.

Y miren que justo leo y como ke su significado se aplicaba más o menos a lo que estuve pasando en ese momento. Es como una «killing me softly» song, pero feliz, sin lágrimas ni mokos. Una interpretación posible del tema es que es como si ella estuviese pensando en su futuro («helping the kids put on their coats, but wait the babies haven’t been born»), en cómo le gustaría vivir alejada del ruido y tener un hogar allá en Mushaboom. Pero a la vez mira el presente y se da cuenta que deberán pasar algunos años más todavía («but in the meantime I’ve got it hard, second floor living without a yard»). A simple life 🙂

Esta canción es muy feliz, me gusta bastante por el ritmo y la letra un tanto graciosa. O sea, no es ke vuele súper alto como para decirle «ilusa»; y tampoco es que canta como que si no se cumple se corta la vena… she is willing to wait.

Y qué tiene que ver conmigo? Pues de alguna manera me gustaría vivir también a simple life, pero ayer pensé que tal vez llegar a mi Mushaboom (que sería por la playa) iría a tardar mucho más tiempo, o que las cosas irían a llegar desordenadas, i mean no de acuerdo a lo esperado. Felizmente todo volvió a la normalidad.

Alors, y qué me falta para llegar a MushaB Ville? Pos lo mismo ke a Leslie, un sueldo más alto («it may take years until the day my dreams will match up with my pay»); y bueno, conseguirme a «man to stick it out» XD and «collect the moments one by one».
